Fulton County, Ark., Sheriff Jacob Smith has announced his agency is conducting a death investigation after deputies responded to a 911 call on Jan. 8 on Seminole Drive in Hardy, Ark.
In a statement issued to media outlets on Thursday, Smith said that on arrival, responding deputies found Derek Hamilton, 26, inside a house, the victim of what appeared to be multiple stab wounds inflicted during a domestic altercation. Hamilton was pronounced dead by Fulton County Coroner Barker.
Smith said Hamilton’s body was sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner's office, and two suspects were taken into custody that night and released after questioning.
The case is open and still under investigation, Smith added.
