Posted

Michael W. Naylor, 50, of Licking, suffered fatal injuries over the weekend when he was thrown from his pickup truck in a crash at 9:30 p.m. Friday on Highway 137, 3 miles north of Raymondville in Texas County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Msgt. D.B. Pounds of Troop G, headquartered in Willow Springs, reported Naylor was driving a southbound 1995 Dodge Laramie that failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the road, returned to the road and became airborne before hitting the right side of the road and overturning.

Naylor was not wearing a seat belt, the report shows.

Texas County Coroner Marie Lasater pronounced him dead at 10:25 p.m. at the scene.

Naylor’s death is the second fatality for this year compared to four in the same time frame in 2023.

Pounds was assisted at the scene by Cpl. T.L. Brown, Tpr. J.L. Dedmon, the Raymondville Fire Department and the Texas County Sheriff's Office.
