Two area teens were hurt in vehicle crashes on Thursday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Kyra G. Roberson, 18, West Plains, suffered minor injuries in a crash at 11:30 p.m. Thursday on Highway 13, 2 miles south of Brighton, Polk County.

Msgt. S.W. Long, Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, headquartered in Springfield, reported Roberson was a passenger in a northbound 2010 Dodge Avenger driven by Tracen A. Tate, 19, Springfield, that skidded off the road and struck an embankment.

Roberson was transported to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, according to the patrol.

Another passenger, Zarrion M. Murphy, 18, St. Roberts, also reportedly suffered minor injuries but was not taken for medical treatment. No injuries were reported for Tate.

All three were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, the report shows.

A 16-year-old boy from Ava suffered minor injuries in a rollover crash at 8:20 a.m. Thursday on Highway 5, 7 miles south of Ava in Douglas County.

Sgt. L.S. Elliott, Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported a northbound 1996 Chevrolet S10 driven by the teen ran off the left side of the road and overturned.

He was wearing a seat belt and was transported by Cox Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, the report shows.

Because the driver is a minor he is not identified by name by the patrol.
