I hope you enjoyed the cool weekend we just had, makes you want to bake or make chili. So many of my friends did make chili over the weekend, I almost did. There is something about the crisp air that brings out the simmer pots, it's a favorite season for foodies. I know we all have our favorite chili recipe, but have you tried a new version? I got to looking on Pinterest and you'd be surprised at all the chili recipes, all claiming to be the best. One recipe caught my eye and I hope it does yours too, because it's good to try new ways to make a old favorite. This recipe is best if cooked low and slow so the flavors can simmer together but I'm sure you can cook this in the crockpot for the same outcome. Cowboy Chili could be Western or not but it sure does sound good. Keep this recipe handy for the next cool front when your craving chili. And for those who like to stick to their personal favorite recipe, all is good.   Here's some tips for any chili recipe, just so you know.  You can make it spicy by adding hot peppers, or smoky by a drop or two of liquid smoke. I like to mix up the beans for variety, you can also make it thicker by adding some cornstarch while beer enhances the flavor even more. No matter what kind of chili you cook, they are all good . Enjoy. more
